…The North American BJJ Federation is very proud to announce “The 2010 Los Angeles International Jiu Jitsu Open”. The event will take place on October 24th, 2010 at Cal State Dominguez Hills, in Carson, California. All belt levels are invited to compete.
The top three competitors in each division will receive medals and will make points for their academy. The five academies with the most points will get a trophy. In addition, we will give medals to all kids and trophies to the top three academies that score the most points on kids division.
All competitors will get a free T-shirt if registered on or before October 17th, 2010. The competition will start at 09:00 am.

REGISTRATION
Every competitor must turn in registration form (completed & signed) along with the registration fee by A) NABJJ Store in Torrance or by C) Online Registration at www.nabjjf.com:
*Men = $60.00
*Women = $60.00
*Juvenile = $60.00
*Kids = $50.00
Registration fees are non-refundable. NO EXCEPTIONS. Spectator fee is $7 per day. All competitors must weigh-in right before competing. All competitors must weigh-in with his/her GI ON including KIDS.
Attention Parents: In order to keep the Tournament on time and avoid mismatches make sure your kid is signed up for the right division. Double check their weight with their Gi on!!!
A- NABJJ Store in Torrance Registration –Available through Wednesday October 17th at 4005 W. 182nd St, Torrance, CA 90504. (Late registration will be also available from October 18th – October 20th Extra charges will apply)
B- Online Registration –Available through Sunday October 17th at www.nabjjf.com (Late registration will be also available from October 18th – October 20th Extra charges will apply)
TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE (A full schedule with times will be posted on the website www.nabjjf.com two days prior to the tournament October. 22nd).
RULES
•Each academy may have a maximum of two competitors in each category.
•All disqualified competitor will lose his or her registration fee.
•Bent knee locks, bicep locks, heel hooks, cervical locks, scissor takedown(s) and slamming
will not be permitted. The competitor will be disqualified if any of those techniques are
used.
•Guillotine, neck cranks or any type of foot locks will not be permitted for Kids (4-15).
Leg locks or toe-hold(s) will not be permitted for White, Blue and Purple belts, only
straight foot locks.
•All competitors must wear a clean gi.
•All competitors must wear SOLID colored Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Weaved GI (Kimono), either ALL WHITE or ALL BLUE, or ALL BLACK in color.
•Male competitors are not allowed to wear T-shirts, rashguards and etc… underneath the gi, wrestling shoes and head gears will not be permitted as well – (rashguards are only allowed for Women)
•Competitor(s) that do not weigh in will be automatically disqualified.
•No advantages. If the match is tied at the end of regulation, there will be sudden death overtime. The first competitor to score points will be the winner.
•Any competitor who does not show up for a match will automatically forfeit the match and registration fee
•Arrive 30 minutes prior to your match
•Single elimination tournament
(The referee reserves the right to stop a submission of any kind if the competitor is in dangerous especially for kids. It is better to stop a little early than a little too late)

Passing the guard = 3 points
Takedown = 2 points

Knee on stomach = 2 points

(4-6) = 2 minutes White belts = 5 minutes White belts = 5 minutes
